The owners are the most involved and motivated campground hosts we have met. We loved our stay here and know the next time we come it will be even better. As others have said, there are many recent improvements to this campground. The only difficulty we had was that our 30 amp power was pretty weak so our internal protection would disconnect over about 25 amps due to voltage drop. Good water pressure and threaded sewer connection. This is a wooded and natural campground, not a resort. They do have a pool but if you are used to resorts then you would probably want to check out Camden Hills. We love this property though because of the clean restrooms, outdoor cedar showers, and beautiful harbor views from the overlook. Our site #56 was good for our 40' rig and was easily leveled. Full tree cover. Verizon coverage good, AT&T unusable. Campground WiFi is strong and additional cost. The benefit is that not everyone there is using it, so it isn't bogged down trying to stream cat videos to every iPhone in the campground. You do actually get what you pay for.

We would stay there again for sure!

The new owners were friendly and helpful. The campsites were spacious and had many trees. There is a beautiful overlook to gather and view the ocean. The bathrooms are new and very nice. The showers were being renovated but they had outdoor showers that were new and spacious,... very well done!

Not infatuation, it's true love. There is so much to love!! Make sure to watch the YouTube video on its website. I never did before booking but glad I found it so now I know I can watch it and relive our time there.

We became proud owners of our RV just short of 7 years ago. It's been our home above the CPH, across from the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, on the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon, in Grand Sequoia National Forest, very near the shoreline of Lake Tahoe, on the shoreline of a mountain lake outside of Yosemite, next to a mountain river in the Rockies, all along the coastline of Oregon and all over Vancouver Island, B.C. Megunticook is now at the top of our all time favorite campgrounds list. The terrace down by the water and the new (so we are told) outdoor cedar showers put these accommodations in a 10 star category all by itself. We returned already after only spending one night. Couldn't wait to do so before leaving Maine and cant wait to go back over and over and over again whether it be to fly in and stay in a cabin or drive 3 days in the RV to take whatever site is available, any of them is fine with us. Maui might be paradise on earth, but Megunticook is heaven on earth!

This was hands down the best campground I've been to. The entire family that owns this was very welcoming and helpful. They have brand new, huge heated showers made of cedar, the pool was refreshing, our campsite (#85) was spacious and was right next to the waterfront with an amazing view. When the sun came up, all I had to do was unzip the window in my tent to watch it rise through the trees. It was a short drive from Mount Battie for a short but tall hike, and Owl's Head Beach is also close to the campgrounds. For $35/night you can't go wrong with this.

We had a great experience. The campground was all that we had hoped for and more. We camped in a Teardrop trailer and stayed for just one night.

Awesome campground. Some of the friendliest owners we've ever met. It's clear they really care about this place and are working hard to make it nice. The open air cedar showers (which still have complete privacy) are wonderful. Best campground shower I've ever had (and I've been to a lot of campgrounds). The waterfront patio area is beautiful. Highly recommend!
